This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of celebrating my granddaughter, Nora’s fourth birthday. It is hard to believe that four years have already passed since Nora was born in February. Nora is a very beautiful, energetic girl with a curious mind. She loves doing crafts with her Mom and sister, Hannah, and really enjoys playing. Since she lives a distance from my home, my daughter in law, thought it would be fun for her cousins Ariana, Michael and Eliana, to join her in some indoor playground activities at the local mall. It was a wonderful idea.
We all met at the St. Charles Town Center around 1:00 on Sunday and proceeded into Majesticland, an indoor playground, where the cousins spent the next hour and a half, running, climbing, sliding, twirling around and riding bumper cars and kicking soccer balls. It was amazing to see the energy all of the grandchildren expended. They had a great time there.
Then we went back to my home, where they continued playing with one another, coloring and using the toys. They even went up to a bedroom upstairs to play with Valentine and Easter gift bags and stickers. These grandchildren really know how to have fun!
Later, we had pizza for dinner (courtesy of Uncle Steve) and we all wished Nora a very Happy Birthday with a unicorn cake. She blew out her 4 candles and 1 for good luck. She opened up a present from Aunt Katie, a rainbow fluffy unicorn and some unicorn socks. She was one very happy four year old!
I love having my six adult children and their spouses visit with their children and the cousins certainly enjoy seeing one another and spending time playing. There is nothing quite like a grandchild’s birthday party to realize how blessed I am. Thank you, God, for these special gifts!
