So hard to believe but my grandson, Michael, turned three in September. We had a birthday party for him on that Sunday attended by immediate family members, his Mom and Dad, both his grandmothers, his great grandmother and four of his uncles and three of his aunts. His cousins Ariana, Nora, and Hannah were also at the party and I have never seen three children have such a fun and raucous time! They chased each other around on the first floor, they played with chalk on the front porch, they ate dinner together and helped Michael blow out the number 3 candle on his Avenger’s cake.
Michael is quite the Avengers fan and always asks to sit on my lap in front of the desktop to watch videos of Hulk and Spider man on You Tube. Even though I have told him I don’t like Venom or Abomination (bad guys), he still has a fascination with them and we usually watch a video or two of them.
Well, several of the gifts he got for his birthday were Avenger super-hero toys, he also got a Duplo set to play with and some new books. He also enjoys playing with Hot Wheels cars and uses his imagination about what happens to them. It is fascinating to hear him talking now and see his personality developing so fast. Hearing him say , “Mom Mom”, is very exciting to me as well as his manners using Please and Thank You when he wants something and gets it.
There is something special about family birthdays and seeing the grandchildren have such a good time is very edifying. Looking forward to the next granddaughters’ birthdays in November. Ariana will be four and Hannah will be two. Also eagerly anticipating the birth of my fifth grandchild around November 7. Life is a series of miracles and I feel truly blessed to be these children’s Mom Mom.
