“Mom Mom comin’?”, my grandson Michael, 2 3/4, asked his Mom, my daughter the other day. “Yes, Mom Mom is coming, ” was her reply. So we loaded a sandwich bag with pretzels and M and M’s and we headed to the local theater to see Toy Story 4.
On the way my daughter, Marianne and I told Michael some of the characters he could look for on the big screen. Of course we told him about Woody, Buz Lightyear, Bo Peep, Slinky Dog, Rex the Dinosaur and Forky.
When we entered the theater, Marianne bought some popcorn and pretzel nuggets and Michael sat fascinated at the movie and eating his popcorn the way Mom said, “one piece at a time, Michael.” The movie was very good and kept Michael glued to his seat until about 20 minutes from the end. It was a little too long for an active boy to be sitting, so he got up and started walking up and down the steps, until Mom took him to the back of the room.
It certainly is a fun activity to bring a 2+ grandson to a cartoon movie. This is the second one I have gone to see with Michael and his Mom. The first one Pet Story 2 didn’t grab my attention enough so unfortunately I nodded off for about 10 minutes. Luckily I only snored once according to my daughter. So I was determined not to nod off at Toy Story 4 and mission accomplished!
