“This baby has long legs,” the ultrasound technician commented as I stood in the dimly lit exam room. I marveled at the pictures I viewed on the screen. My daughter, Katie and her husband, Dan were equally fascinated looking at their baby’s head, heart, spine and legs.
As the technician moved the transducer around on Katie’s abdomen the reality of the pregnancy came into sharp focus. At twenty weeks this baby is moving, yawning, crossing it’s legs at the ankles and waving it’s hands. What a miracle! I was so excited to be there and witness the activity.
Twenty three years ago, I viewed an ultrasound of my youngest child before he was born and that was equally impressive, but there was no 4D technology then. The 4D technology of today gave us a sharper picture of the baby’s face. I saw my next grandchild and it was a thrilling way to start the day!
Katie and Dan are on this adventure of first pregnancy and I feel blessed to accompany them!
