We had an “official” pancake breakfast on Sunday. Two sons, two daughters, my son-in-law and two grandchildren attended. I only had one egg left and needed another for two batches of pancakes, so my son-in-law was kind enough to go back to his house to bring me eggs, a griddle, and strawberries.
Everyone’s taste in pancakes is different, so I made plain, blueberry, blueberry and strawberry pancakes and my adult children’s favorite mini chocolate chip and sprinkles pancakes. I grilled some bacon on the barbecue and everyone had enough to eat.
It was so nice to see everyone gather in the kitchen Sunday morning. Pancake breakfasts, usually only have 3 attendees twice a month. I had been away on vacation visiting relatives for four days, so it was really nice to have most of the family together.
The two cousins, Ariana and Michael had a great time, playing together. They made a house under the kitchen table and decorated it with about 24 of Michael’s Hot Wheels cars. They also confiscated a box of wipes and pulled each sheet out to (clean their house). Not a single sheet was spared Then it was out to the bird feeder in the back yard to refill it Next was a walk up to the stop sign as Ariana tried for the first time sitting on a two wheel bike with her Dad’s help. Michael rode in a pink toy car that I pushed.
Whenever the two cousins get together they have a lot of fun. This time they made a bed out of sofa cushions and blankets in the family room and bounced on them. They watched the original Lion King movie, and chased each other around the first floor. Michael now calls Ariana, Anna and loves her company. Ariana was lifting Michael up and tried to help Aunt Marianne make sure that Michael took his allergy pill. They enjoyed having Gummy Bear treats together in little Dixie cups. One thing is certain, when the grandchildren visit there is a lot of laughing and the volume in the house is on high.
